Ban the DRUGS! Not the GUNS!

No, I'm not going to hash it out about the anti-gun nuts and the Virginia Tech massacre. Would a Concealed Carry holder have stopped the killer from killing - no, but he certainly would have been well ventilated long before he arrived at the number he did.

Have a look at this

Don't ban guns! Looks like we need to ban anti-depressants and some of the other mind numbing drugs used to screw up our children. You just have to love far leftist logic - let's not actually work on RESOLVING the underlying issues that someone has, let's just dope them into "normalcy" or whatever society accepts as normal.

Last question, why do ALL of these issues happen in "gun free zones"? Do any aspiring antisocial manic depressant wannabes (that's a technical term - sort of) really want to take on a group of Marines on base (fully armed)? No...that's why such never happens - it always happens where guns are not common or outright banned!

OK - enough of that, I've said enough about Virginia Tech

----------------------------

In other news: A piece of pure comedy - CongressDemon McCarthy who is bringing you the next incarnation of her socialist weapons ban (the link is worth reading) doesn't even know what is in her ban!!!

See the video of her greatest blunder yet! (this is priceless!)

I remember when we were treated to the Beatle's idiotology during the 60's: if we were all high as kites we'd be peaceful. No war. Baloney.

I don't think it is intellectually honest to blame the drugs simply because the shooter was using them. Isn't that kind of like blaming the guns because the shooter was using them? He was obviously emotionally disturbed which is why he was on drugs. He didn't become emotionally disturbed because he was on the drugs. I think you might make a case for the drugs not being all that efficacious.

Don't jump all down my throat because of the drugs...I am not a proponent our society's dependence upon pharmaceuticals. I think in many ways the drugs we take are contributing to our health problems.

You may be correct on the point that the drugs did not "make" him commit the crime, but they certainly didn't help his sense of right and wrong.

(forgive my tin-foil hat here)

I find it very...VERY odd that recent shootings have three things in common:

1. The killers (for the most part) are on some sort of mood altering substance for various mental issues (see the article).

2. Such shootings always seem to occur when congress/politicians are pushing for yet stronger gun control.

3. The shooters (with some exceptions) conveniently shoot themselves in the head (or kill themselves) at the end.

All of these could just be coincidence, I could be way out in left field. I also want to state that I'm no big fan of "conspiracy theory" mumbo jumbo. However, with few exceptions recent shootings have played out roughly along those lines...very strange.

The problem with mood altering drugs seems to be one of correct dosage and or skipping or missing a dose as well as trying to stop them on your own. I was listening to a shrink talk about these issues. Stoppinig on your own can make you suicidal. Couple that with his other problems and it becomes a deadly mix. However, he picked a place where nobody was packing. Crazy, yes. Stupid, no.The problem remains, we are a society ready to take a pill for everything. Look at every corner. There's a drug store. Why? We are also a society that doesn't want to recognize evil. Idiotology in my opinion.
