This is a very interesting read, now I'm not sure that I agree with everything the writer claims, but I'll agree that he makes some very...VERY good points.
I highly recommend the article to those that espouse a Christian (or any other) belief system.

The Old and New Testament are filled with examples of righteous people defending themselves. David, Joshua, and my favorite, Gideon. Remember the Angel saluted him saying, " Gideon, thou mighty man of valor, the Lord is with thee!" We should never be blood thirsty or cruel, but prepared to protect ourselves and families. The axiom, we sleep well because rough men are willing to do violence on OUR behalf, is a truism.
John Knox, Augustine, Francis Schaeffer and others believed that since all authority come from God, one who misuses that power is no longer representing God, but Satan. It becomes, then, our duty and responsibility to stand against such a one.
