I don't know whether to cry...from pity...or envy...

Have a look at this...

Now THAT is an awesome collection. Of course the "sheeple" become afraid and decide that he is a threat and place him in the loony bin. After all in these post 9-11 days, who in their right mind would want an "arsenal" like that....

Answer: Any red blooded patriotic American!

I don't know whether to cry from pity that they are going to roast him over the coals for having such a fine collection in COMMIEfornia, or cry from envy that I can't afford such a quantity of arms and ammo.

(Quoting John W. Rawles from Survivalblog):

Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector"
In Texas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector"
In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of storage food.
In Montana, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy."
In Idaho, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate."
And, in Wyoming he'd be called "an eligible bachelor."

I am, however, even more disturbed that the media has decided "spin" gun ownership as a mental disease...I wonder how long before the politicians follow...

Keep in mind that in certain states that they take away your children, guns, etc. if they deem you "mentally incompetent". Scary...very, very scary...

Wow. What kind of wacko stockpiles that amount of ammo and starts a tunnel complex underneath his home? Yeah, what a nutcase. I envy him. JWR is right, and I can only wish I was that far along in my own preparedness plan.

Heck, no wonder he didn't want to come out of the house. If I had invested the amount of money into weapons and ammo that he has and I had excavated a tunnel, they would've had to fight me to come out of the house, too!

It's a shame he hadn't had the chance to finish the project and get his cache rooms dug out and moved everything under there. Depending on how deep the tunnel system is, he could've easily waited out the fire. Then he could have popped out a day or two later and he'd be the media darling; everyone would be talking about how clever he was and how amazing it is that he survived the fire with his well-prepared shelter. As it is, he's now branded as the neighborhood's dangerous looney with a "stockpile" of weapons.

Remember this, state senator Mark Leno said it's ok to have something like a hundred images of child porn in California. When the mayor of San Francisco was handing out gay marriage licenses I was hoping some other mayor would start signing conceal carry permits to freak em out . Did this guy do something illegal? Was he threatening others? I recall in an interview with Mr. Heston he revealed that some of his actor buddies begged for some of his stockpiles during the LA riots. What hypocrits.

Sounds like the People's Republic of California has the neighbors programmed properly...

Does he design floor plans? Because my house needs those kind of modifications. I am sorry the state is after him - they stated they aren't even sure his guns were illegal. What a shock - they don't respect his Second Amendment rights!

One thing's for sure: he wasn't paranoid. The State really was out to get him!
